Senior prom at home!
We've had so much fun photographing these sessions, and every family has had a story to tell, so we decided to do a little interview with each family and post it with our image spotlights.
Meet the Swafford Family!
What was your favorite thing about your session?
- Capturing a moment in our lives during the chaotic time that the world is living through. For a few hours that night it all seemed to leave our minds and we were just a family being silly and celebrating!
Is there anything you'd like to say to your photographers?
- Nik and Jordyn are the best!! We all spent a lot of time laughing and that was fun for all of us! Whitney seeing Nik pull up was definitely a highlight! It made her feel special to have a professional photography crew on site, and Nik has been capturing big moments for her for a long time now. It seemed only fitting that he would be present for one of her last big high school moments!
What was your favorite activity during quarantine?
- Whitney’s Senior Prom! It was fun to just be silly and carefree as a family and get creative to make our girl smile!
What was your least favorite thing about quarantine?
- Not being able to hug or visit our friends or family
Did you acquire any new hobbies or learn any new skills?
- Collins learned how to efficiently use Zoom to visit with her preschool and dance classes!
What are some things you did to have fun outside?
- Picnics, family walks, lots of sidewalk chalk, bike rides and taking the dog on walks
What was your favorite thing to snack on?
- Oh Dear... Otter Pops, hard boiled eggs, honey crisp apples, cheese
What are some things you did to help you feel connected with others?
- Hand written letters, that was a fun way to reconnect. Back yard social distant lunches with grandma for the girls. Lots of face timing with family. Drive by birthday parades.
What is your favorite memory from quarantine?
- Whitney’s senior prom
What are you most excited to do after the restrictions are lifted?
- Go on vacation
What have you learned?
- That we have let our life get to busy. There has been something to learn about the overload of always being go home go and in to the next thing, but we’ve forgotten how to be present in the moment as a family. Time with family is precious and this time has brought back the appreciation for just sitting around the dinner table together, game night, or family walks.
What are you most thankful for about this time?
- Being at home safe and healthy as a family. We all could use some alone time, but the fact that we are at home with people that we love the most in the world is pretty great!
