Homemade skee-ball and kitchen dance parties: Focusing on the joy!
We've had so much fun photographing these sessions, and every family has had a story to tell, so we decided to do a little interview with each family and post it with our image spotlights.
Meet the Metzel Family!
What was your favorite thing about your session?
- Getting to see other people in real life.
What was your favorite activity during quarantine?
- Sewing masks to give to our friends and family who need them.
What was your least favorite thing about quarantine?
- Not getting to roam the Target aisles and letting them tell me what I need to buy.
Did you acquire any new hobbies or learn any new skills?
- We have tried so many new activities during quarantine like 3D printing, sewing masks, creating obstacle courses, and baking.
What are some things you did to have fun outside?
- Bubbles. Trampoline time. Howling at the moon at 8pm every night.
What was your favorite thing to snack on?
- Challah. All of the homemade challah.
What are some things you did to help you feel connected with others?
- Dropping off care packages. FaceTime. House party app.
What is your favorite memory from quarantine?
- Making our own skee-ball out of boxes.
What are you most excited to do after the restrictions are lifted?
- Travel when we can. We have canceled my son’s birthday trip and he has handled it with so much maturity. It is going to make the trip that much better when we can go.
What have you learned?
- Slowing down is essential to a happy home. Not planning every minute of every day and going with the flow gives us mental health.
What are you most thankful for about this time?
- Kitchen dance parties to restart our days.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
- There have been struggles as well as complete joys during this time and we focus on the joy. Like seeing our preemie baby flourish and finally start walking.
