As many of you know, each year on the first week of December I take a crazy trip. For the first 15 years I would basically throw a dart at a map and fly to a city somewhere in the world for only 48 hours. In that short time I would do my best to capture as much of the magic each culture had to offer as I could. It was always an exsausting and intense experiance and I loved every minute of it.
About 4 years ago my youngest son Nikolai asked that instead of Christmas gifts, if he could go on my trip with me. I was thrilled that his passion for photography and art gave him the travel bug, so I said yes! The trip with Nikolai has evolved over the years. We realized that both of us have a passion for telling stories about people in places that most would never go. We took what was originally an adventure and turned it into an opportunity to serve children through working with charitable organizations.
Nikolai and I have had many adventures together and we have seen some of the saddest places in the world. In spite of what we perceive as sadness, in each city we find hope and love and children who never stop smiling. Through video and stills we tell the story as we see it and we hope to spread awarness that although the world is big, every child matters.
Its time again to decide where the world will take us and what story we will tell. Things seem to be leaning towards India. We are working hard at getting visas and tickets ready and we hope to share a new story soon. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
